2009 White Oak Classic

White Oak Classic Sled Dog Race Web Site

The White Oak Classic sled dog race took place on Saturday, January 10, 2009. The race began Saturday morning in Deer River. The eight dog race ended in Northome. Northome was the midpoint and the main stop over for the ten dog race which ended in Marcel. Teams began arriving in Northome in mid afternoon and after resting, left Northome between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM Sunday morning. Below are a few photographs.

Northland Progressive sponsored free sled dog rides at Northome School in the early afternoon. Joel Kersting of Suomi Hills Kennel provided the rides.
